[ElectriciansForums.net] sychronous motor connections?Can some one tell me what terminal is live and which is neutral, I have 1 x green,2 x Grey, (together) 1 x black, with the cap between green and black motor giggles about but does not turn I suspect the cap is either knacked or not correctpy connected,

think the cap might need to go between the single black and the 2 greys, but that's a guess. as it's a guess that the green is earth. (meter on ohms from green to motor casing).

Any chance of a photograph? What you’re describing seems straight forward. Just because a wire is black, doesn’t instantly mean it’s a neutral...
