A bathroom is a special location - no problems there then.
So what is a bathroom?
At one time a bathroom would have a toilet, a sink , a shower and a bath. That's OK then.
Some posh places have the toilet in a separate room. So that's a sink a shower and a bath then.
Some tiny flats etc may not have a bath.
So that's a sink and a shower them. I have seen plenty of bathrooms like this, and classed them as a special location as per the wiring regs.
Now increase the size of the room and add a bed, and suddenly its a bedroom with a shower tray and a sink. So do the special location regs still apply?
Not according to some people.

Your thought please.
(and yes I think it is a unfused spur with 3 sockets on it, but that's another story)

Simple, the special location is a "location containing a bath or shower", it is not a "bathroom".
You have a special location there and I cannot see those sockets being >3m from the shower!
However of course as the location is defined by the walls of the room if you built a small anteroom on the front of the shower the special location would be up to the door and you would be fine, wonderful things regulations!

How about a shower with a glass door rather then a shower curtain?

And is anyone else seeing the picture that I tried to delete from the first post as a hideous big image?

well, that arrangement is perfeclty acceptable in many countries around the world, and to my knowledge, it ain't killed anybody yet.

Should be but not so cheap hotel (Olympic venue right on the sea front), I was there for a different reason but saw this and wondered about how it could be made to comply (and possibly get my boss some work out of it).

Well it's not as bad as the one which actually had the socket in the shower and the person said they did not use the socket when they where in the shower.

Is it in Weymouth mate, at a hotel on the esplanade that employs an in house 'Electrician" by any chance?
