Hi all, job visited they are extending downstairs wc and fitting a shower(quadrant)the meters gas, elec and old wilex rewireable cu. they want a new cu fitting, shower feed, lights etc. I have told them the cu will have to be moved out of room but meters can remain boxed in! (In cupboard with doors) Anyone got any other suggestions as customer moaning about cost etc ?????

I have a picture on my phone of the finished job, I could stand in the shower and operate the MCB's. They did a good job of tiling and grouting around the DB.
(I was called in to wire a new boiler in to an existing switch fuse spur)

unless they're extending into next door's living room, i'd walk away mate. downstairs loos tend to be pretty small and i'm guessing the extension won't be big enough to allow compliance with the permitted zones. you could get in touch with the utility companies to get them to move their gear, but is it worth it? my advice is, move on to the next job.

First one view from shower, third gas meter above shower.

Who ever fitted the shower should of seen that in the first place - how stupid do you get!

Another DIY ob by the look of it!

Also who installed the CU there - looks like one done in the last few years - so which ever was the last to be done should have been flagged up!

Had a job similar to that, the board(s) were a little bit further away but still too close. I walked away as the customer didn't want to pay to have it done right. I'm sure that Bob/Bert/John from the pub will sort it.
