Could do with finding some extra deep T&E clips where you can stack two cables vertically (not side by side). Had a quick look around on line and can't see any - anyone know of any? Need to be clip format, not plates etc.

We use stacking clips regularly for fiber optic cabling.

But I've never seen a cable clip for flat twin +e that will allow stacking. Maybe you could find a thin and tall profile of trunking if you dig around.

I have a question though, if you were to install cables stacked hard on top of each other would you need to apply ampacity derating with this installation method?

It's not a practice of choice, but got six identical timber frame new builds where there's only space for one cable width running between the kingspan and the edge of the joist, then being boarded straight to. The joist gap and Kingspan are both pre-formed at 400mm so it isn't really an option to try to 'push in' as it's almost micron precision and to cut down nearly 2m drops in the foam at every single point will probably add an extra days labour to the job. Currently using standard clips and just not knocking them in fully, but it's a bit messy and reasonable chance of cable damage if not careful.

Can you not clip the first cable to the timber then cable tie the next cable to the first, would be a bit fiddly but better than crushing the cable

That was the first solution the lads came up with but it's amazingly time consuming and fiddly! There's probably something like 50 drops per floor, at 2 - 2.5m each so that's a 150m of cable tying, 3 ties per metre so somewhere around 500 ties, per floor, and still needing to clip the bottom cable anyway!

If no-one's seen anything then we'll just stick with what we've been doing - at least it works and doesn't consume too much time, even allowing for taking care.

I've done this with two clips, remove nail and replace with longer one as suggested above. I turn one clip 'upside down' to form a hollow shape around cable. ONly ever had to do this once or twice but it seemed to work OK, but never as big a job as you're on with - unsure if you will see a time saving over what you are doing.

I'm not sure on the environmental implications, a good quality integrated fitting will last many years and be more energy efficient than the GU10...
