just looking at these test leads here...
dont like the idea of a fused earth croc/prod.....
what do you think?

[ElectriciansForums.net] hmm...

The standard set of Fluke MFT leads is fused in all probes. They've probably thought about it and decided that it's worth the extra few pence for additional safety. You can't guarantee what voltage you'll find on a conductor (even earth) until you test it.

when i saw a topic entitled "hmmm" i was expecting victor meldrew style complaining - i was right lol. ;-)

as for fused prongs , reduces accuracy and have a habit of breaking at the most inconvienent moment.
my fluke has internal electronic gizmos for user protection so never needed fused leads.

yeah....i dont use fused prods.crocs with my MFTs.....they tend to pop on Ze...lol...

when i was doing 2391 and 2330 they made us use them with the fluke but the megger has built in 500mA fuse
the probes ether have 500mA or 10A fuses
I didnt like the fluke it was hassle swapping the fuses when you needed the croc or the probe plus the fluke needs 3 leads the neutral to power the meter but Tony would know better than I on this so i bow to his wisdom lol, as GS38 does say fused test leads with 4 mm or preferably 2mm tips which you cant use to test a wago connector and as its supposed to be a dead test

Precisely

Glenn there’s a big bad world out there. Most of it lives in the real world. You use the tool best suited to the job, not what is dictated by a demigod in an ivory tower.
well yes...i know and understand this one Tony....
i mean i`v done stuff to get the job done that would have had `em crying at college....but its a case of `if its controlled` and so on....
jesus, you`d never get the job done otherwise...lol
suppose i was just bored thats all....

The 1552, which I also own, does not predate GS38. You have nothing to worry about.
