4 pole rotary switch

hi all
i am new member and need help.I have to connect 4 plugs to one rotary switch so that one plug can be active at a time and three remain disconnected and when rotary switch moved to position 2 second plug became active and other three inactive.Please advise whether i need 4pole 4postion switch or any other.Please provide wiring diagram also if any.thanks

Gasp you don't want much, you need NO and NC terminals and it will be difficult switching one at a time with 3 live, I may have an answer, however I need £50.00 per hour for my trouble

No you need a single pole 4way rotary switch (item disconnect before connect)
Now there is nothing stopping you using 2 pole or 3 pole and either ignoring the other poles, or using them to light up 4 leds seperatly to show what plug you are connected to

What sort of load is it switching?

I think if you read the OP again you will see it's not black and white, the question was one pole needs to be live and 3 dead, and then if a different pole live then the other 3 dead, then if the third pole live the others dead etc, a standard 4 pole rotary switch won;t do this, a little more involved, specialist kit required or an understanding of control wiring,JMO

sorry i was going for 4P 4position step cam switch w/o off,20A ,
so as you people advise i should go for one pole 4 position switch

So what is the project, whats on these 4 plugs. Give us this info you never know someone may have done this before, instead of going around in circles.

Ok the pole is the common to the switch, the way is the amount of positions it can switch, so from my diagram yo can see this is a 1 pole 4way switch. So we can switch the same input to 4 different outputs.

Sorry if i am not clear enoughearlier.i have 5 lamps with holders mounted on panel and 4 plugs on each sideof panel.i need if i connect the supply to any of plug and select switch toactivate only that plug all my lamps glow and i can plug supply from any sideto my panel.please advise

Do you really mean plugs (not sockets)? If you say what the purpose of all this is, then ideas may be more forthcoming.
