whats your views and ways of wiring maintained emergency lights, a collegue of mine took his mains to the fitting then took a 3 core cable from the light down to the key switch, whats your views and ways of wiring/abiding by the regulations.

any wiring method is OK as long as it complies to regs. sometimes it's more economical to loop at lights, sometimes at switches.
