these are the type of rods you need...no 3/8" twigs here (apart from in that bush behind maybe)

get it brayed in....Robert my assistant uses the fork with a bit of tape to keep the rod steady

thats a length of 10mm CSA G/Y being pulled through a length of conny for main earthing (the conny was dropped into the ground)

Ze was OK at just over 15 ohms...had to change the 16th edition setup in the board...it was configured as a split load 10 & 2....dropped another RCD in it and did it 5 & 5
happy days...

The electrical supply company don't supply an earth point in 99% of cases anywhere on the Island!!!
Not seen any evidence of TT systems in the north, are you referring to the the south as 'the electrical supply company' in the north is government owned and clearly don't regulate the south?

Yes my house is in the South and the supply company is also basically government owned. But the North would have been under the same company prior to the invasion, so unless something has radically changed since that time, i would suspect the same would apply to the North, and that TT systems are the norm... You know what the Cyp's are like when it comes to spending money, that they can't see any return for!! ...lol!!

Ah OK, (I'll not bite on the issue of Greek propaganda). The standard of wiring in the north is atrocious - saw this today whilst out running

i think just to summerise this
I will have a chat with delroy (my boss)....and if he OKs it I will send another rod in....
theres no reason why he shouldn`t...but I have of course to run it all by him first...
thats the way it is...
