Hi,

I have a megger mft 1553, I damaged one of my leads so I bought a new set, which on the picture liked like the standard leads you get with the mft 1553, however the leads arrived today and are the new megger test leads you get with the new mft 17!!. So now I have a problem as these leads are of no use with my kewtech r1 r2 adaptor, so basically performin r1r2 test on socket circuits is now a problem.

Anyone know of a socket r1r2 adaptor that the new megger leads fit, or where I can get the old leads from?

Thanks

Craig

Thanks for the replies, I have the plug test lead just never thought you could use it for r1r2 testing, I only ever use it for live testing, come to think of it I have never seen anone use it for dead testing. I will have to have a go, but reckon there may be an issue with nulling the tester then taking the leads out and using the plug adaptor, surely the resistances will differ giving false readings.

Why did megger have to alter what was easy to use and perfectly acceptable. Have used the new megger and have to say the 1552 and 1553 are far better in my opinion. Only real plus for me was the speed of the rcd tests and the two sided test buttons!!!!!!!!!! rant over!!!

Well done. Leads sound a bit high btw mine are 0.07 when warmed up. Rcd uplift - I either calculate Zs, or use the kitcher trick. See
