Putting in a garage supply for an obviously dearly loved friend,
My current theory is 32A RCBO at CU
then 4mm t&e to garage board.
garage board has an incoming RCCB
and I'll be putting 2 radial circuits and a lighting circuit on 2x B20's and a B6 respectively.

Is this going to provide discrimination when there's an earth fault on the garage circuit via the RCBO?

after reading a few threads looking for an answer to a different question I'm outfoxed by the RCD in series stuff

They will work in series, that is the problem, which one will work, that is the clincher!
you can stand there asking the question Richard...
the problem is:
will you get an answer?

Toys thrown out of his pram because he couldn't pick our brains.

Not dig at you Mick. I liked the comment as it gave a springboard.

Fortunately my brain is self regenerating and has no need of sustenance from lower life forms.

Where I do feed is in the higher echelons of international engineering debate.

Trouble is the idiots have found us there.

We still have the Electrical Trainee.

“Our 275KV dual OH feeder keep tripping on directional fault. Should we disable the relays?”
“My electrical team have advised me the motors for the fire protection system won’t trip on overload with our present set up. We are going down rate the OL & OC protection. Why was it set so high in the first place?”

Half the time we are trying to translate Pidgin English to something intelligible. A bit like on here.

If this fool is talking about fire pump motors, he'll have a lot of explaining to do in the event of a fire and the bloody fire pumps all start tripping out on overload or overcurrent!! Or even to the fire officer, on one of their irregular fire equipment inspections!! lol!!
