Looking for some advice

10mm cable on a 32a fuse is that okay to run a 6.5kw hob and a 2.4kw oven?

Never ceases to amaze me this cooker load conundrum.
Obviously no-one bothers to look at the many past threads on exactly the same topic, nope instead they make themselves look like 1st year apprentices!!

A 10mm cable is way oversized for a less than a 9 KW total cooking load!! A 32A MCB is more than ample to provide OCP to the cable carrying this sort of loading...

I think Dan needs to enlarge the search engine by about 500% lol

I think the only time that I ever have to stop and think with cookers is when you see specs with huge multiple induction hobs, other than that, as you rightly say a 32A OCPD onto a 6mm cable is more than sufficient for standard domestic.

Or maybe there ought to be a FAQ section??? contents would be: cookers, total loads (diversity), wiring 2 ways and intermediates, sheds and TN-C-S, what makes an RCD trip...... and so on.

It melts slowly mate..............bit like time delay thingys:)
depends if its scottish:
