Any one heard that Ikea will selling PV panels in all its 17 UK stores offering installation and maintenance.
 
I quoted to do an install on their MK store a couple of years back , I think they ended up not having an install as they did not have the "confidence" in solar at that time !
 
so simple. the system comes with full flast pack instructions, and , of course, one of these:

This is all done using Hanergy thin film panels. Their lower output limits size of array. Just try putting a 30m sq roof in to the configurator.

Hanergy took over Engensa earlier in the year. They had a good finance model with no money up front and this was part of the attraction. Time will tell if they have much impact. In many ways it should be viewed as an opportunity. Anything that raises interest has to be good news.
 
I agree, this is not a "Tesco's" attempt, Toby/Engensa's edge was always in their financial model imo. Not to be looked at as "cheap as chips" competition to your average decent domestic installer I don't think. I could be wrong but that's how I see it.
