this has just been installed in our street. SSW facing, no shading, what i can't understand is why the 2 panels at the bottom, in landscape, close to the gutter, have been fitted there, when there is oodles of space to the right of the other panels. bear in mind that my knowledge of PV is basic.

Is the extension to the right definitely part of the same dwelling? If it is then it is strange to say the least.

As for the horizontal panels, they look bloody awful. And if they had to go in, then could they not have been centralised?

Rarely does a system look good with both portrait and landscape fitted panels.

If they had to do that (for whatever reason - usually salesman) if would have been better to drop the two rows down and put the two landscape ones at the top in the centre.

There is still a small challenge on proper string design, however we all know they haven;t done that either:)

Unless it's done properly :)

thanks for the confirmation. the extension roof is definitely part of the same house.

either saving on scaffolding costs, or they started at the left, then realised there weren't any rafters where they needed them above the old external wall or something... either way it's not good, probably rent a roof I'd think, they really do just throw the panels on the roof as quick as possible then scarper to do the next one.
