Some helpfull advice please

Hi,

Around 10 years ago I was an electrical apprentice in Australia for 3 years, I attended college once a week for 2 out of the 3 years (1st year was all on site for me) I gained a fair bit of experience by working with a sole trader, ie - I was lucky enough to see all our jobs through to completion (my friends in bigger companies weren't so lucky) Then came an offer of full time professional rugby in the UK. I took this opportunity and had a successful career from it. I now wish to go back into the electrical trade however getting a job at 31 as an apprentice is very difficult if not impossible. Here are a few questions I could do with help answering

*Can all the modules I passed in college in Australia be worth anything over here?
*Are there any other options?
*Is going down the Domestic Installers route worth an idea as I have a few years experience (all be it I'd need a hell of a lot more experience in a trade that's always changing)
* Is it worth doing a level 3 diploma and trying to find work as a mate then building a portfolio to try and be assessed for an NVQ?
*If going for the Domestic Installers route (which seems ridiculously quick for this industry but available) does that allow me to work for myself in the domestic division only but straight away? or to apply for domestic installer jobs that become available?

Any help would be much appreciated

Word of advice. Try spelling where your from properly then you may get some help---------------Wiagn?????????? you mean Wigan?

I'd try to get on a company as an adult mate and see how you get on, you will gain experience and the gaffer may help you retrain fella.

This.

Get a job as an electricians mate and do your full qualifications at night.

Although did you finish your course in Australia? Did you become fully qualified?.

Now im intrigued with the Wigan and rugby connection. Give me a clue to your name :ihih:
