Had a look at a new build, the house has been knocked down and re-built and now waiting for first fix.
Would I be right in assuming the fuse is rated at 57A, don't fancy pulling that fuse to check

Noticed the two singles as well my first thought
Also looks like mr meter man has fitted a new digital meter so why don't they inform DNO about these old heads seems they just pull fuse change meter then go come across a few in London area like the one in pic all with new meters fitted

That is ancient.....
I also note the "use asbestos tube when rewiring"

Thankfully not many of them kicking around these parts....think the hydro dealt with most of them as they do both dno and metering work. Though now I've said that I'm going to come across one of these "lovely" service heads......

What's with the Red and Blue singles?

Red and blue singles is builders handy work. It's 6mm cable running into a CU to provide lighting and power for tools.
Don't know the full story but it was an old bungalow, and when the owner applied to extend it, building control told them they had to knock it down as the existing footings and walls could not take the weight of the new roof.

So they demolished the house, rebuilt it and...remounted that??

I get it - it's a 'listed' head!
