Went to IKEA today with the Mrs on my day off, got home a couple of hours ago and have been stressing ever since cause of the stupid flat pack! I hate the stuff, anyway about 10 minutes ago got it all done.... Then I did something stupid.... Got a picture frame handed to me and a point to the wall, out comes the drill 5.5mm bit, start drilling....BANG straight through the titting downstairs ring!!!

Reminds me of this job I went to last week. Took a while to sort out as I wanted to be really sure where the fault was before I pulled out the kick board and the built-in dishwasher.

The ring final was tripping the circuit breaker (and sometimes the RCD). It had an open circuit cpc and variable IR live to earth. The rawlplugs had been put in about five years ago during a kitchen refit and not touched since, so I guess that the wall was getting damp with the recent heavy rain and dropping the resistance.
