Hi Guys

I have been approached by a local letting agents and asked if I would be interested in doing electrical maintenance for them on the rental properties that the manage. However having spent the last 12 years in France, I have no idea on what I should be charging.

I would appreciate if you guys out there could give me some idea as I don't want to look stupid when I meet up with their director.

Many thanks in advance

Victor

£20-£25 per hour is a sensible rate. or will they want you to price per job?

Hum. £25 per hour - well I think that's too low as you need to factor in the time to get to and from site or else you could be out for 8 hours and only "invoice" £100.

I use a first hour rate then a subsequent hourly rate which is charged per 15 minutes.....

I'd go in with a higher rate and see the reaction when you tell him and if necessary barter a little bit BUT remember work could be very occassional so don't sell yourself cheap.

Any mug can offer a cheap price but your "sell" has to be the fact you will turn up when expected!
