what is a good brand heatshrink to pick up?

im not buying the stuff from the local wholesaler because its only a 2:1 ratio and i know you can get adesive lined and 4:1.

im going to buy another soldering project as well

RS or Farnell have a good range of heat shrink. Or you could try Maplin.

so in theory could get away with 9.5mm and 15mm for most.

(im guessing heatshrink wont split if it doesnt shrink 3:1)
 
6 and 10 would cover the small sizes and had better not split on tightening down, if it does it is not doing its job.
But a bit bigger may be handy occasionally for me. It does depend where you are working.

the biggest we we normally deal with day to day is 6mm tri rated for pumps.

on occasion we will do the odd shower or sub main though
