can you not get some conduit box lids and use 4mm pins and nuts?
Unfortunately not. I had been told that this would do the trick, but unfortunately it is too wide to fit into the BESA box ....

bassically box lid with 4mm pins to fix a 12mm surface box.
that's an option if it is sunk into a wall and conduit as cpc.
personally id rather replace conduit box with a normal backbox.
I only need 2 for a current job. The room has recently been decorated and chopping out for a b/box is a non starter.

i'd have made one by now. bit of 16 gauge steel, drill, hammer, cold chisel, file.
and a lot of muscle if trying to cut 16 gauge with tin snips.
