    Boiler in the bathroom

this old thread came up when I was searching, I had an idea there was a regulation about cupboards that can only be opened with a tool, but I can't find it. Does that still apply? looking at the NICEIC checklist there is no mention of boilers, it looks like they have to be Outside the Zones...

    Meter Tails Incident

if the meter tails were touching ten inches from he meter, and glowing red hot, this is very curious. For the sheaths and insulation both to have been nicked, and in a position where the two nicks actually touched, sounds very improbable. I was considering the possibility that a nefarious...

What is this box and cable on the side of my house?

p.s. If you don't get anywhere phoning them, write a very short letter and post it. It will be logged and passed along until it reaches someone who knows what to do. The Service Desks have limited training.

Re wire, to cap wires or not

BTW (sorry) all the spreads I ever asked said that they take great care of their trowels, and would never risk nicking the edge by letting it dig into a cable.

Re wire, to cap wires or not

Unlike Tony, I can't see that plasters would attack the copper in modern electrical cables, since they are insulated in (usually) PVC and then sheathed in more (usually) PVC. So unless someone cut through both the sheath and the insulation, which takes a bit of effort even with a sharp...
