    Ethos 8600 EV test adapter

Both those videos show the Megger EV adaptor and not the Ethos. Am I missing something?

    Ethos 8600 EV test adapter

It looks as though the Ethos EV adaptor has all the same features as the Megger EV adaptor? I assume it’s the 4mm banana sockets you are concerned about and not the BS1363 socket? To be honest I expect most people would only ever use the latter.

It does look very similar to the Megger one

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

You really need to be doing some IR testing to solve this. It sounds pretty basic and should be easy to get to the bottom of with the right test equipment. Can you get someone you work with to help? Someone with proper test equipment. A £10 Kewtech socket tester doesn’t count!!

    Blowing sockets and popping RCD

So how do you expect to find the problem without testing? Apologies if I’ve got the wrong end of the stick here, but if I’m dealing with a symptom of tripping pretty much the very first thing I do is IR testing

What are your IR results for that circuit?

    Signing off others work

Reality is you can do what you like in your own place to a certain extent as no one will know. Fit your own electrics or gas boiler if you want! How do you know it’s safe though? Do you have the correct test equipment and know how to use it? I suspect not, but I can understand your predicament...

    Any advice on rewires?

Anyone know if the triple blade fits the MFE30?

    Cpc connection wylex

It may not look like it, but it 100% does take 16mm2

    Cpc connection wylex

It doesn't, it takes 3x 16mm2. That said, 25mm2 would be better, for when you run 25mm2 SWA.

    Cpc connection wylex

I’ve fitted loads of these switch fuses. In fact I will be fitting one on Friday coming. I ignore the earth terminals with Allen heads. I just use the terminal for on the back of the enclosure which you think only takes 6mm2. Unless they have changed the design in the past couple of months...

    A Calibrated Question (Multi Meters)

They do more like 80-100 in my local branch on the CEF day. All at £30 a pop. Work it out…

    Crazy cable price rises

Pointless shopping around for T&E as everybody sells it for within a few percent of each other - yet everyone does it! Wholesalers must be laughing as they charge £12 for a box of screws or an extra £4 on a bulkhead fitting - yet sparks is happy he has saved 75p on a drum of 2.5!!

    Crappy new LAP terminals

Lap switches and sockets are junk too. Seen so many failures. Would never fit them. I sometimes buy the cat6 euro modules. They are rebranded Philex and decent.

Had enough of cheap ones falling to bits. Will look at the fluke too

    Which Veto Pro Pac??

I’m looking to upgrade my tool bag and can’t decide which Veto bag is right for me. Nobody ever seems to have a claw hammer in their bags in the reviews etc? This is one of my most used tools. If it doesn’t fit in the LC, then that’s that out. I want to carry a claw hammer, bolster, couple of...

    Storage box for cordless gear

Looking to have a bit of an upgrade of my cordless tools. I'll be sticking with Dewalt as some of it is still in good nick. I find it irritating carrying multiple small cases around for various drills etc, batteries, chargers though. Can anyone recommend a storage case suitable in size for a...
