    Same old van question...

Cheers HS i am swaying towards the custom but still gonna take the Trafic out for a few days just to be sure... Anybody use the H2 or high top version, thought it might be better for storing ladders etc in the roof space?

New trainee. Is 4 month training realistic to get qualified?

Perused over the pages so forgive me if i've missed anything, long story short i've been away from the industry for 8-9 years' ish and i've gone back to finish what i started years before that (C&G 2360) but rather than do an NVQ refresher i've gone back to take the newer qualifications, giving...

    Same old van question...

thanks spunkywads had thought about a small van just for costing purposes but the whole climbing through to get bits does put me right off... thanks for the other replys im getting the sense the transit and trafic/ vivaro are just down to personal preference rather than whats better.

    Same old van question...

The auto custom I test drove was roughly getting mid to late 20's which isnt great but I assumed it just needed bedding in as it'd only done a couple of thousand. I have looked at Vauxhall but the guy at the dealership said and I kid you not said he'd buy a custom if it was his money or the...

    Toughening up on incompetent Electricians

Only used megger as it came up through a link but I was only shown it today. Wish I'd payed more attention to it now lol

    Same old van question...

Outgoings more than anything and can't really justify a £3-4K spend just for vat down payment at the moment, I know I'll get it back just don't wanna be flagged up for excessive spending as I've got to kit the van out too. I will be looking down the outright avenue just as a matter of course...

    Toughening up on incompetent Electricians

Yeah I do agree, with most youngers lacking the work hard ethic trades are going to suffer in the long term. I understand that with late bloomers not wanting to sit a classroom for four years with 16/17 year olds is a huge problem and the block training colleges do help alleviate that. It does...

    Same old van question...

Ok being that I'm no good with making a decision I've narrowed my search for a new van to either Transit Custom 130 SWB Renault Trafic 125 SWB Connect 120 LWB (throw in a little curve ball as they seem very cost effective) Was thinking of the new Vito but being you get nothing as standard and...

    Thinking of getting a Truck

Now that does answer why the sales guy wouldn't go near any stairs and had to use the lift lol :)

    Thinking of getting a Truck

So trucks aside what vans would you recommend, as i mentioned i like the custom limited 170ps but i am quite concerned as to its p*ss poor security?

    Thinking of getting a Truck

security is on of my main thoughts and has made me think seriously about what to get but being you can recode a transit custom in under a few minutes and drive away it seems like your buggered no matter what you get.

    Thinking of getting a Truck

I do like the Amarok too but i just think it justifies the extra cost

    Thinking of getting a Truck

Haha maybe ;) na I'm just trying to tick all the boxes for a vehicle. I do like the Transit Custom Limited just thought with all the spats of thefts of vans and tools at least the truck may fly under the radar a little more

    Thinking of getting a Truck

Have been playing around with the thought of getting a new vehicle for work, ready for when i start out again (my TT isn't gonna work lol, so needs to go...). Looked at a Ford Ranger yesterday and quite liked it but test drove the new Nissan Navara today as you can get a full spec Teckna in...

I did the C&G2360 some 15 years odd years ago but annoyingly i didn't get it completed

Exactly my thoughts, when i spoke to city and guild a few years ago they said the 2360 is way out of date and wouldn't work towards anything else anyway... I'm just a little worried with all the increased manual workers in the U.K. that getting consistent jobs/ contracts may be an issue... I...

I did the C&G2360 some 15 years odd years ago but annoyingly i didn't get it completed

The only problem I saw was that I'm unable to prove any of my pre existing works as the companies I'd worked for had long since gone pop. Plus I thought it would give me a full refresher doing it again... I have already paid for most of it upfront anyway so maybe jumping with both feet weren't...

I did the C&G2360 some 15 years odd years ago but annoyingly i didn't get it completed

Its been quite a few years since i left the industry and now after some good time to think I'm looking to come back. I worked mainly in the commercial/ office fitout sector in London on the tools to begin with then later as a project manager. I have contemplated going back as a pm but as its...
