    Drilling holes in Fusebox knockouts?

Clamping a peace of wood inside. Before drilling may help prevent dislodging the knockout . I have not use fuse box so dont know how secure the knockouts are.

Safe Isolation of a 16/32a socket

if the scenario is that you have a long lead with a 16 amp plug on it supplying say a porta cabin and just by unplugging it you have provide safe isolation so you can work on the other end, 50 meters away I would say this is not safe isolation as any tom dick or harry could plug it back in, if...

Cottage supplied by 16mm SWA 300+ yards! Trying to resolve a high Ze reading

Agree with westwood That SWA need terminating correctly. I would give a code 2 for that. I would also code 2 those exposed single insulated cores of the SWA . To fix the HI zs though you would have to down rate the main fuses, fit a main upfront 300ma RCD at the DNOs supply box Or run in a new...

    3 Phase Distribution Board Dilema

I see 3 options. 4 way to mccb panel Ryfield unit or bus bar chambers with 2x 100 amp switch fuses or with some DBs you can fit a mccb to use as the main switch. Schieder is one example I know of.

    Wylex 3 phase board fitting.

I have not come across many scenarios when i can omit surge protection . If Anything is going to be more expensive to repaire that the cost of the surge unit. Then I fit one. For example high level light would expensive to repaire if scissor lift was required.

    Wylex 3 phase board fitting.

Are you using every way if not you will need done blanking modules and check if you need surge protection

Three phase circuit breaker - Utilising only one phase

Agree with Dave disconnect unused Phases on the outgoing side of the isolator. No reason to replace mcbs with single pole, unless you need room in the DB to add other circuits and it also sounds like the loads of been spread out over the 3 phases so all good there.
