Which capping do you use in a wide chase down to consumer unit?

The manufacturer of the TP3 product is Trident Sections (not Trident Solutions). See PRODUCTS | TridentSections - http://www.tridentsections.co.uk/press/products/

    Disappointing 1000W inverter

I'd guess that one possible cause is that the load is too low. I would suggest you try it with a 800-900W mainly resistive load (like a small fan heater with just one element switched on) to see if it is better behaved at higher loads. If that works, all you can really do is try a variety of...

Which capping do you use in a wide chase down to consumer unit?

This is why I don't like capping over the drops to the consumer unit, it makes future installs much more difficult than they need to be. Ideally, you would give the customer the choice between capping and trunking, so that they can make an informed decision.

    CUSTOMER BLAMED PLUMBER

You need to be more subtle: you should have said "If you've still got the receipt, you could take it back." and let him think about it for a mo. If he says "That's a good idea" you have him bang to rights. If he says "Er, don't know if the plumber still has the receipt" then perhaps he was...

ERG FACILITIES, what are they about, do i take on their work or not.

Not sure how they are from the traders side, but lots of customers have problems with them. Do a Google Search.

    Increasing my work load???

Make sure your customers know that you are looking for work. If you do a good job for them and let them know at the end of the job you have some availability in "a couple of weeks time", they may well hear of someone who needs some work doing over the next few weeks and recommend you. Make sure...

    Fire alarm cabling student accommodation

I have to disagree; two firefighters and a member of the public died in the Harrow Court fire due to entanglement with electrical cables; not some other part of the building fabric. Do you really not care about your work and the impact it has on others?

    Fire alarm cabling student accommodation

Dropping loops of banding from a concrete ceiling to support the cable between the studs would work. Use concrete screws, not wood screws and plastic plugs, to ensure the fixings don't let go in a fire.

Ideas please to extend a restricted socket

You are going to have to cut a hole in the side of the cabinet to get the cables through, why not cut this so that it is directly over the screw that is inaccessible. It looks like you would be able to reach through such a hole, even with a normal length driver to get the screw out. The hole...

Is there any existing provision to shut off power to the entire kitchen?

    32A commando socket without isolator

Is there really no room for a combined socket & isolator? Something like the GEWISS Part No. GW66015?

How to learn quickly on the Job ?

At the end of each day, make a quick note on what you have learned that day. Try to find at least one thing; it could be related to business/customers/tools/regs/materials/installation methods. If you learned it new that day, write it down. Review this list at the end of the week, e.g. late on...

    Pete's Videos What a Partxzzzxzxzxxxz

I think the video poses an interesting problem for Youtube. If you know what you are looking at, the video is interesting and educational. But if you don't, it might encourage you to do something that might kill you!

Sub Board?? How shall I go about it?

I reckon you are not a qualified electrician and that you should not be starting any electrical work!

Shunt trip in a domestic CU? Looking for a complaint way of remotely switching off power

If you do engage an electrician to install an DP isolator and contactor, and if your consumer unit is currently plastic, you might also ask them to quote for changing your consumer unit to meet the requirements of the 17th Edition Amendment 3. Fitting one of the EnviroBurst tubes would further...

Customer Question: Two gang switch for light & fan?

Part F says that in a room without an opening window, an intermittent fan should have a 15 minute overrun. It mentions that in rooms with no natural light, if MAY be appropriate for the fan to be controlled by the operation of the main light in the room. To the OP: you can have your fan on a...

Deductions from pay for damage to van not caused by me

I think the damage could be regarded as 'fair wear and tear' by the leasing company. Unless the boss agreed with you that you would keep the van under cover, it's not your fault. You could also call the leasing company anonymously to ask "what if hailstones damage the vehicle while it's in my...
