That's why I'm going out to check it later this week. One of our other sparks did an EICR on it last week, gave me the cert to sign off, as QS, and I refused. He wondered why! Also noticed other discrepancies like 2.5 lives and 2.5 cpc with him specifying PVC/PVC type used. Challenged, it now...
Hi guys, Got a TT system. Do I need to install a time delay RCD on an old Wylex board that is supplying off-peak night storage heaters. The unrestricted board has been changed to 17th last year but the restricted board has not been changed.
Cheers. The external Ze is very good at 0.18.
That's why I tried to get our company to go via NAPIT or ELECSA as each sparks is examined, but they felt that NIC was better recognised by "their clients". I explained that, when I was a sole trader and registered with ELECSA, I found them much more approachable than the "recognised" body, and...
Reasonable happy with their work. One of our newbies has some problems compiling the EICRs so I have been out with him to oversee. One he submitted to me I refused to sign off as too much info missing or unclear. Tempted to send him back to retest but think the tenant may object.
I have recently been appointed Qualified Supervisor for my firm and was wondering who countersigns my work as I still carry out EICRs and installations?
Thank you
We are due to have our first NICEIC assessment and I have been asked to be the QS. Have I just accepted a poisened chalice? Looking at some of the completed EICRs I notice several differences in the way they are completed. We are using NICEIC style forms and the discrepancies are on Isolation...
Surely this makes a mockery of everyone thinking the NICEIC is the best thing since sliced bread. Who's to say that any of the work done by electricians registered under the approved contarctor scheme have any quals or knowledge?
Hope that someone can help me on this one. I currently work for a housing association as their qualified electician and the company is looking to take on another electrician and also join the NICEIC approved contractors. What is in dispute is the qualifications the new sparks needs. He will...
I had removed all the covers on the circuit to check all connections and found them to be secure. I had then also tried to follow the ring; slightly awkward as 2 of the sockets are in the upstairs bedroom and the rest below in the kitchen/diner. It appeared to be down to a couple of points but...
Doing a PIR lately and found no continuity on one of the ring final neutral circuits. I am not familiar with fault finding and would appreciate any help and hints. IR test on the circuit passed.
