Ok that's great, I'll buy a copy of COP for ISITEE 4th edition, do a 2377 22 - 32 PAT testing course at which point would be deemed competent by C&G, or at least have evidence appropriate training, and then I will proceed to rake in the cash at 67p a time
Evening all
Currently studying to take my 2391 course, in guidance note book 3, page 23, 553.2.2 it says "Particular attention should be paid to the requirements for cable couplers to ensure that the connector (female part) of the couplers us fitted at the end remote from the supply."
Surely...
Called NICEIC yesterday and they said no it's a seperate scheme even for full contractors :o
Not very much information on their website. But your essentially saying do a training course with them and PAT test forever?
Thank you for such a detailed reply. Yes I am very much just want to offer thoroughly carried out PAT testing to current clients for example who I already do annual gas inspections in HMOs for.
If you don’t mind what kind of price range do you offer, how long do you roughly take per an item...
There's a lot of different PAT testing machines out there from £300 to close to £3000, I'm not going planning to do a lot of PAT testing but I think it is a good service to be able to offer, any reccommendations for any particular reason?
thank you very much
Hi there.
As I understand NAPIT approved contractors automatically are able to carry out PAT testing with there yearly subscription.
Do NICEIC approved contractors get the same benefit? I'm currently just a domestic installer and would have to pay an extra £450+VAT per a year for PAT testing!!
thank you for all the useful information.
The Di-log one you have detects down to 100micro amps which if I am not mistaken is 0.1 mA. The Megger is boasting that it "has a resolution of just 0.001mA and excellent accuracy of ±1% (depending on current magnitude)", so essentially can detect an...
Thank you all for the replies.
Re-looking at the specs, I notice that it doesn't actually do DC current. Do any clamps detect DC?
Also looking at some of the Fluke clamps and they're £500+ each :o I see they can detect up to 600amps, I'm guessing that's the main advantage? Can't see...
Doing more and more consumer unit changes and think it’s worth while to have an earth leakage clamp tester.
My MFT is a megger which I quite like, so eas going to go with a DCM305E but then noticed that the DCM340 is a fair bit different, ehat’s the difference?!
They both appear to do AC and...
Do the item number 'EC308' WISKA earthing kits fit into the WISKA combi 208 boxes (10109571)?
I've only ever used them in 308 junction boxes
thank you very much in advanced
No damage is evident after I fixed the run over bollard cabling. Yes they are.

Well the metal bollards, but they were installed before the 18th edition so strictly I thought they don't NEED an RCD.
Yeah I guess commercial, it's for about 20 domestic flats.
Think I'm just going to...
Was called out to a car park where they had the lighting circuit tripping out. Fixed the issue by putting damaged cables in an IP rated box. However just realised that the electrician who came out before myself took out the RCBO and replaced it with an MCB in hope that it would stop tripping...
Hi, I'm a fairly newly qualified electrician and have had a callout to a car park with a number of the bollard LED lights not working. I've looked fairly extensively on the internet I can't find anything in stock, would anyone know where to get replacements for the lights in the pictures, or at...
