Got a small problem i've recently wired a large and expensive kitchen for a client who has now request some lighting above a larder area on the opposite side of the kitchen to the pelmet lights ive already installed on the other side. Does anyone know of a wireless transmitter that i could use...

Thanks for your help.
I May be wrong but i was under the impression that if you change a consumer unit your modifying the circuit, when doing a modification it must meet 17th edition. I may have just therefore for past few years since being self-employed been turning away work because i wont' leave a job if it needs...
Just done large school kitchen myself and the place was covering in bonding, we just used 4mm pigtailed between the table's and bonded using bonding clamps them back to consumer unit. Waste of time probably because everything in the kitchen was protected by 30ma rcbo's.It was in the coucils spec...
I'd pull all cable's back into the loft area make a board up with double suface boxes crimp them in the boxes stick on a blanking and mark up each circuit for anyone coming after. How far are you considering moving the consumer unit??
remember all joint's must be accessible proper pet hate. Cheers
When doing a consumer unit change you must obviously fill in an installation certificate. You can't put a fail on an installation cert so you can't do a consumer unit change unless you are going to do all remedial work. By changing the consumer unit your taking responsibility for the complete...
But aren't you supposed to do a periodic before you do a board change, i know i wouldn't be happy if someone expected me to have a re-wire if i thought i was just paying for a board change.
I can understand that it's a cut thoat world out there at the moment but i charge £20 per/hr for my services. It really isn't possible to go any cheaper if i did i might as well just jack it in and stack shelves at asda!
Thanks lenny, just still a little raw about the fact that i lost a weeks work. And trust me as much as you want to do a job right they'll always be some idiot that will come and cut corners. Cheers i'll just have to keep telling myself im fighting for the good guys.
Hi guys, when would you consider a re-wire was nesscesary?? I recently when to a property to have a look at a consumer unit change to find in my a opinion a mess!! The consumer unit (old wylex re-wireable type) hanginging off the wall no bonding at all. So on further investigation i found a few...
I was wiring i shower for a friend today and found what looked to be 10mm t+e but was 6mm and looked like it was silver on the outside and copper in the middle. It all tested out fine just wondering what it was and if its anything i need to be concerned about. Cheers all
I got full funding working full time but is in the same boat want a jib card although im already fully qualified can't have one. Where abouts you live because the guy who's doing mine wants more people to do it. Obivously he gets paid through grants so more the merrier for him.
Dam right mate don't really want to scarifice ourplace in the play-offs for a cup run but its still good knowing that we've got the beating of prem teams. It'll stand us in good stead when we're promoted. fingers crossed
Needed an nvq3 to get my JIB because my apprenticeship in forces didn't get me one. Spoke to train to gain. And a nice man rang me saying he'd got me funding and arranged a meeting next week. Better than the £1600 that jib company had said it was gonna be. So if you want one phone train for gain...
