    June 2396 Exam

Nice to hear some replies back guys. A word of warning to anyone who is primarily a house basher, think very carefully before taking this course on. This is way beyond the scope of an average spark (yippe me) and you have to do a hell of a lot of self study and dedicate your time to research and...

    June 2396 Exam

Evening peeps. Been a while since I posted but been a busy bee has this one. Just curious to know if anyone is doing June's 2396 exam. Heard it's a real stinker and 3 hours is nowhere near long enough. Grabbed myself some revision notes in the form of past papers that look pretty legit and in...

SWA to shed - agree with my proposal?

T&E will be protected in trunking from CU, run in floor space then out onto back wall via PVC conduit into adaptable box. Will consider putting it on 20A MCB then doing what Murdoch has suggested. Still feel running the SWA direct to the CU would be better. Hhhhmmmmmmm.

SWA to shed - agree with my proposal?

I was thinking about running it back to the CU yes. Probably me being a bit lazy :) Why not RCBO the light(s)? Also, would you say 2.5 SWA is more than adequate? Noticed you post a lot an help so cheers.

SWA to shed - agree with my proposal?

Hey all Been quite some time since I've been on here so first off a big hello and hope everyone's well. Personally, I've gotten a dose of Man Flu but I just have to get on with it I suppose. I'm after some advice really and any opinion's would be greatly appreciated. I am going to be starting...

    Spec me a circular saw

Evening all. Title says it all really. In need of a decent circular saw. Preferably battery operated. Basically fed up of getting boards up using hammer and chisel method. Also, I do a bit of joinery work too so it serves as a dual purpose. Was thinking this particular model: Bosch GKS 18V LiN...

Is this a reasonable price for rewiring up lights?

It's a tough call mate really is. I am obviously including a days labour in it so the price would be final. I have considered that because the loft is T & G boarded, it's going to take much longer and they want it all reinstating.

Is this a reasonable price for rewiring up lights?

Hey all. I would appreciate an honest opinion with regard to a quote I am due to email tonight to a couple whom I did some work for in the past. They contacted me a few weeks ago as their downlights in the bathroom have been playing up. I had a quick look in the loft to find what I can only...

I think I deserve to give myself a pat on the back. Yes?

Got it. "What do you do mate?" "I'm an Electrician but I also do Plumbing work as well just to confirm what I already know". "And what's that mate?" "That Electrical work is more complex and will always be when compared to the job of. . . . . .a Plumber" :)

I think I deserve to give myself a pat on the back. Yes?

I am going back in October but not to fix a fault. He's having an extension built and wants me to do it. Good work and honesty gets you repeat work. That's my motto anyway.

Dampside. Ha ha, like it. Well I always have a laugh at the wetheads at college and wind them up saying that we are at the top of the food chain or the SAS of the trades. Thing is I think Electrummer sounds better than Plumbtrician.

I think I deserve to give myself a pat on the back. Yes?

That is the question Glennspark. I take pride in my work and although yes I admit, a more experienced electrician could go from room to room faster and perhaps turn the job round a day or two under me, my work speaks for itself. No mistakes and a neat job.

    Earthing

Always used the method of taking them into the con unit. Have no issue with having them external to the board but I wouldn't change my method now just for the sake of it.

Very impressive Guitarist. I'm doing a Plumbing course at the moment but I will never go over to the darkside :)

Yes Trev I did do it on my own. That's why I'm so pleased with my achievement. Thanks mate.

I think I deserve to give myself a pat on the back. Yes?

Thanks Telectrix. Ha ha ha. Yes, I imagine that the "super speed one - a - dayer" lads would have something to say about that. Funny thing is I was reading some posts a few weeks ago about a team of lads who can do a 3 bed house in a day, make good and everything is neat. If that's the case...
