Do the lamps work with conventional switching and without use of the app?
ie if I didn't want colour changing or dimming or have my phone handy does it operate on a default colour setting like any standard lamp would?
Could be a number of issues, however for a basic continuity i'd say generally an issue with the test kit or operator.
Battery level, instrument accuracy (in cal), lead condition, croc clip connection, pressure of leads on cable ect.. Few of the things i'd initially check
I'd always personally rather fit standard sockets and encourage use of an plug in adaptor.
However what client wants client gets! The usb sockets (BG + LAP) I have fitted continue to work well with no issues.
Only recently become aware of Philips Hue lighting (don't do much domestic nowadays), after it was mentioned in another post on this forum.
It appears to be a decent basic, easy to retro-fit at a reasonable price. I presume it wouldn't be as adaptable or robust as other fully wired smart...
Rather than attempting to repair it may be cost effective to replace with a newer model. Contact the manufacture or look into the product technical information, the newer models may well have the same dimensions, fixing holes, cable entry. I've found this to be the case with some other...
At 42k per year, 44hrs per week roughly £20per hour, that's pretty decent coin for cards in. But with the travel 60hrs per week roughly £14.5per hour.
I suppose your decision will depend on the amount of hourly uplift if going Ltd.
As others have already stated, i'd have no issues with 2 different phases in the switch.
I'd perhaps however consider putting a simple dymo label to indicate the switch has 2 supplies from different DB's. DB1-2L1 DB2-2L3
Interesting thread. As @westward10 says, a proper eicr should only be completed by experienced and competent electricians.
It's quite concerning with the recent dumbing down of 2391 course, a course which used to only be attempted by electricians with significant practical experience is now...
Haven't ever seen templates.
A few points to consider though, for dedicated regularly maintained pat tested appliance, user to be a trained and competent operator of the appliance.
Could you of not easily installed a local rcd enclosure above the outlets?
Also the duty holder should perhaps...
Can't really think of any specific fault finding books. I'd recommend 'Programmable Logic Controllers, Fourth Edition, by Frank D Petruzella' for a wealth of PLC info though.
As a sole trader that's understandable. I presume you'd use sub contractors or agency labour hire as and when required. I was referring to to the op about employed sparks rates.
I agree, can't really give a definitive answer without personally being at the installation.
However (in line with numerous electrical bodies) also can't generalise socket outlet's no rcd protection as C2. And in doing so declare thousands of older domestic and non-domestic installations as...
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here? You stated above you'd C2 sockets without RCD protection, which in general is incorrect for domestic or non-domestic.
Will the installation take the extra demand? Has said db a suitable Ze? Do you need to consider any cable de-rating factors? Will the exceed allowable volt drop? Can you adequately support the cable for the route? Enough spare ways in db? Are you competent to issue EIC certification? Just a...
For domestic you'd have to meet the certification requirements of the local authority building control. Not so much an issue in commercial/industrial, however the client may specify only approved contractor scheme members to complete electrical tasks on there building.
Secondly, how long is a...
@buzz I believe the above document is irrelevant, the op is asking about an EICR not a new install.
Also the document is not current, its pre amendment 3.
