BS7671, OSG et al - Effective Markers and Referencing

I used the small post-it note strips as tempory measure, then later when I needed more marked in the regs book, I cut the strips into small pieces and used Sellotape to hold them in place and also to protect them. I have (complete guess) 25 along the top marking out sections and things you need...

How much to re-wire a 3 bedroom semi?

No, I don't think people are stupid on here, there are some very knowledgable people, that's why I ask so many questions on things I'm interested in learning. There is no conspiracy, what I said was the truth,I'm not interested in doing any electrical work in the friends house, especially a...

How much to re-wire a 3 bedroom semi?

You lot certainly like your conspiracy theories on here! Nope, absolutely nothing to do with me. I'm not doing the work as I said. A friends parents had the quote. Nope. See above. If you read the thread properly then you would see why I have 393 posts. Your the one spamming the thread by...

How much to re-wire a 3 bedroom semi?

They have been quoted £5500. It just seemed excessive. After reading the PIR there are 6 circuits, two of which were untraceable! Some sockets are wired straight from the main switch! It's not VIR though, it's PVC T&E. strangely some of the circuits have failed a IR test but the result given...

How much to re-wire a 3 bedroom semi?

Firstly, I'm not an electrician and I'm not going to be doing the work. A friend of a friend has been quoted to re-wire their 3 bedroom semi in Manchester. I think due to the age of the house, that it will be VIR with the origional rewireable fusebox. All sockets, switches and CCU need...

    Motor speed controller.

I do cut titanium and hardened steel from time to time. Mainly HE30 Aluminium though, so higher speeds would be used the most. I will see if it can be wired as star when I get home. What would you estimate that would reduce the speed by? Thanks for your help :)

This is the head thats on it.

    Motor speed controller.

There is a stack of 4 pulleys on both the motor and driven end, the current slowest speed is achieved with the belt on the smallest motor pulley and largest driven pulley. This makes it 1000 rpm, I would like to make it adjustable from 125 - 1000 rpm.

    Motor speed controller.

lol It's belt driven, due to the housing there isn't really enough room to make the larger pulley any bigger. The smallest pulley looks like it's the minimum size for the belt as well. I could add another two pulleys on a new shaft, inbetween the other two pulleys (compound pulley system), but...

    Motor speed controller.

Thanks for that, I think I remember it saying it could be run in star now you mention it. The actual mill has a 3hp motor, when I bought it it only had the high speed head on it, the standard head is powered by the main motor. I think the high speed head will be ok for what I want it for, just...

    Motor speed controller.

I have a milling machine that has too high a motor speed. If I use a speed controller does that reduce the power output from it as well as the speed? It is a 0.5hp 3 phase motor. Also, where's the best Alsace to get one?

    3 phase motor rating.

Is it inefficient because the motor is always running? I'm going to try and get a digital one, these are presumably more efficient? Thanks.
