DC output from a bridge rectifier.

Thanks for that, it's been a busy week, hopefully I'll find some time to look at the diagrams tomorrow!

    Cordless driver

Just to update. I've been leaving this at work and have had to use it a few times. It's been used for drilling through wall tiles to mount a surface mount box and also drill 5mm holes in stainless steel sheet. Both times it has performed very well and surprised me!

    Appliance testing doldrums

How many times have your students heard that over the years? :p

    Appliance testing doldrums

I spent less than two hours testing the equipment at my place and decided never to do it again!

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

    Thanks very much :)

    Aarrgghh looking for some advice

Oh, I see. Can you use the modules from 2330 so you don't have to do the complete NVQ then? Whats the 10 hour exam on?

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

So that's where the 1.414 comes from! I never realised it's the square root of 2! The inverse being 0.707 Still a bit confused though, is the RMS from the output of the bridge rectifier still 230v? Or does RMS not apply to DC? Meaning it could be called 325v rippled?

    Aarrgghh looking for some advice

Because you said you needed to be in work to complete the 2330? I was wondering why? Unless I've misunderstood! It's possible to pass 2391-10 without ever doing inspection & testing before, and I don't think the testing part of 2330 is as 'strict' shall we say.

    Don't shoot!!!!!

Are tazers covered by the EAWR? probably not the BGB as that is fixed wiring only? Although it would possibly fit into the "used by competent personnel only" method of protection?

    Don't shoot!!!!!

Yes, it bloody hurts and is a nightmare to let go of too!

    Colour of sparks.

Interesting. I was wondering if it had more to do with people's eyesight.

    Aarrgghh looking for some advice

    Isn't level 3 2330 just theory?

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

So would the output RMS voltage be higher than 230v? Figure A would be achieved by using one diode on the Line and one on the Neutral? Just something I was thinking about while driving earlier.

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

Because the negative half cycle rather than being removed is relocated into the positive half cycle. Cant really think of how to describe it!

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

I did realise it looked like breasts after I drew it!

    Colour of sparks.

With regard to lightswitches, some people claim to see a blue spark while for others it's green. Why?!
  17. R

DC output from a bridge rectifier.

Been thinking about this. From standard UK 50Hz 230 Uo into a bridge rectifier the output would be 'b' on the drawing below? Thanks.

    Dewalt 24v battery connections.

I have a Constant Current switch mode power supply that I've just tried it on. It turns and the hammer action works. In-Rush was over 6A and non-load current was 4.5A

    Dewalt 24v battery connections.

I got a Dewalt 24v battery SDS drill cheap today with no batteries. I am planning to use sealed lead acid batteries mounted separate to the drill attached with a coiled cable with it. Does anyone know the pin-out of the batteries? Thanks.
