    2391 Practical re sit, Need a little bit of help...

    Have a think about WHY you would do a PFC at the sub board and what you would use that result for (whether measured or calculated). It is not good enough to just record a result because the form has a box that needs to be filled in. There is a reason for this particular test.

    Olives for MICC glands

    Is it possible to buy just the olives used in MICC glands? Had to cut back some pyro this week to remake the termination, was unable to salvage/reuse the olive, and ended up having to buy a whole new gland. I know that glands are not terribly expensive, but all I needed was a new olive (and pot).

    If this was a EICR, I would be giving it a C2. House has kids running around, there is no RCD protection, and if anyone were to turn that tap on full pelt then water is highly likely to splash directly onto the plug and socket.

    Came across this whilst doing PAT in a women's refuge, and not a single RCD in the house. Whoever installed the worktop and sink never gave a thought to splashes from the sink.     ????? Current is not the same in parallel. Volt drop is the same, and current varies according to the resistances. If all resistances in parallel are the same, then the current is split evenly in each branch.

    Heating on when timer off?

    Yes, is most likely the timer. If you can get the same make/model then it can most likely be fitted without having to touch any wiring - they usually plug in to a backplate, and the wiring is terminated to the backplate. Just turn off the mcb before you look at replacing the timer.
