I would seriously recommend buying a text book. Depending on your training provider and how they run the course, I would have thought that your Tutor would have recommended a book to you already.
I undertook a L2 Electrical Installation course last year at a local college and we were encouraged...
Unless the inverter has some obscure fault which escapes the inverters own protection mechanisms I very much doubt the solar PV is responsible. Will be interested to see what model of inverter is installed.
Technically, HV circuits from a HV source are outside of the scope of BS7671, but the requirements above are clearly a good place to start.
If the cable is not for a private network and will be adopted by a DNO they should be able to advise on their specific requirements.
If you search online...
We often install coax and occasionally install TV aerials & distribution if required as part of a job e.g. new build/major renovation.
We use an inexpensive SLX signal finder and it does enough for us to point the aerial in the right direction. When it comes to areas of very poor signal and the...
I don't run my own business but I don't believe you have done anything wrong. I wouldn't refer this to your insurers. I would imagine if your customer decided to take this to court they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
Just to add it would be worth leaving a bit more spare cable in the patress. This makes it easier to make and check the terminations and quite important in a fixed installation that any future changes to the circuit can be made without too much struggling. Often if the copper has been crushed in...
Personally I use surge protected strips for my AV/computer/sensitive electronic equipment. Saves hassle when short of socket outlets and the total load is still small. IMO the protection is well worth the relatively small cost.
Thank you for your replies, the approach of breaking down the circuit makes complete sense but did not occur to me. I will look into it and apply the Ib.
The actual load will be very much lower as I specified a mixture of LED and 36W HF batten lamps. To even use 100W lamps all the luminaires...
Hi, I currently am working on some cable sizing calculations for an exercise in which we apply our knowledge and use of the OSG. We have a ficticious single-phase, light commercial installation for which we have designed the circuits to supply a range of requirements and loads. We have selected...
Hello,
Presently in the process of broadening my knowledge, particularly in the theory and regs side, maybe looking towards undertaking some suitable electrical qualifications in the future. Came across the forum which seems to discuss some interesting topics!
