    I agree, but there was no assumption regards isolation.. only what the Electrician had been thinking regards using 3c cable.

    Sorry wonder what ? I thought this was the DIY forum and posts where supposed to be helpful? I am not a fully qualified spark, but work in the industry, and have just completed my level 2.. I know how to safely isolate a circuit to be able to work on it.

    Hi.. Yes safe isolation as always ! I assume they just put 3c and earth there and left it until the fittings arrived then realised they did nit need a core.. So is that still safe?

    How would you get the cable through to the box?? :( Apologies.. the cable I'm using is 1.5mm black flex.. not standard twin and earth

    Yep.. New Build. I know regards the UV, and the cable may perish.. but its mainly in the shade where it's is going. The plan was to run the cable from the junction box straight into the choc bloc in the new flood.. But its come complete so guess I need to mount it's own junction box to...

    Morning, I think I know the answer, but wanted to double check. We already have an LED flood installed outside, and I want to add another. Am I OK to just add the twin and earth to the attached choc bloc and run them of the same switch? Thanks Mark

    Cheers pal, Like I say I want to gain some knowledge and practical experience, and not necessarily go into being a spark, but would like to do the level three off my own back and have that knowledge and training to be able to do domestic works. So you reckon go with the cheaper of the two...

    Cheers Pete, thats what the Tutor for the C&G said.. but can't help think that he was pushing for a sale, as he also said I can do the level 3 after it of an evening and them I'm a qualified domestic spark, Ultimately I want to be a project manager, but would do as many qualifications as possible.
