They are great up to 4mm T&E, even on flex up to 1.5mm 3core. I use mine more and more these days over snips or croppers or even my cable knife, they make life so much easier!
Mine are CK version but are no different to the Quickwire ones or others on the market!
I do have some the same as...
I was in a similar position when I bought my HUEPAR, I don't need one often and was nervous about buying a cheapness one. Then I was talking to a chippy mate and he had one, I had a play with it and thought yeah that will do the job.
I've had mine just over a year now, it's had a few knocks and...
Some interesting comments!
Also a high Zs could be caused by RCD uplift, especially with older RCD's.
I put the Max Zs in as that of the 60898 max reading for RcBO's, as above they can fail and then you are reliant on the MCB side of the device for protection.

Then it is already close if not over the threshold of the RCD at that mA.
Yes they will be well dried out after an hour. And rare that all six would be faulty!
Definitely get the MFT out and check both the RCD's both tripping current and times.
Insulation test all the circuits on that RCD...
Was this tested at the oven end or round the main L-N into the RCD? It does sound a lot but maybe why they are on separate RCDs.
If the element was in use for that long it will not be moisture, that will be long dried up.
I would say it is either a faulty RCD or more likely there is a fault...
My answer would be something along the lines of
"I've done my to due diligence in conforming to BS7671 and ensuring that the property was inspected and tested and left in a safe condition during the time of the installation.
That would be a very good answer!
This is the reason a few people...
It is the responsibility of the home owner to check that the electrical contractor they use is capable of signing the work off with LABC.
But how many home owners know this, most I have dealings with have never heard of part P!
And in court if something happens how would you answer the...
Tbh judging by the caliber of most of the building inspectors on our BC I wonder if they would even know what one is (test report that is) apart from the fact it should be there!
They must be some very thick joists to accept a 52mm hole, most I have come across you can if your lucky get a 32mm but most are nearly always 25mm due the the lack of meat in modern builds!
Sounds like you would be much better off out of there imho!
As with our local BC they too will accept an EICR if the original installer has disappeared or not returned to finish the job! I have done this a couple of times now for customers who have been led down the garden path with all in builders that have had unregistered sparks on their books! But...
When you did the further testing and got the 0.06 reading were the CPC's back in the consumer unit?
Really when testing you should leave the CPC's in the earth bar just to make sure that the fault in question is not earthing through some other circuit or extraneous conductive part or parallel...
I agree^^^
I will tell customers if they want to purchase the charger themselves that is fine. It's covered by the manufacturer warranty anyway so it matters not to me. If it goes wrong after installation then it is up to them to get it sorted out with the manufacturer.
I put in a very...
I am not a fan of the project EV chargers or Rolec.
Some of the units I have fitted in the past are so fiddly, especially when trying to wrangle a 6mm SWA into them.
I always fit Zappi chargers if the customer has the money but will fit others if asked.
Zappi have been excellent with me on both...
^^^^^ so not only has a neat installation Benn made rough, but was that RCD needed for fault protection? Looks like a TT system to me!
Sy
Oops just looked again and PME I take it from the second Henley/ service blocks.
Just one other thought, how would the SWA armour be connected?
I can see both sides of this, whilst I also cannot see a reason why it is Non compliant, it will take up more room in the trunking than the equivalent in singles?!
Personally I would if in trunking be using singles for ease and...
Just like to add a very Merry Christmas from me to all on here, and to those who unfortunately are no longer!
Hope everyone who is still here has a prosperous new year!
Best wishes
Sy
I looked at a Klein one the other day and thought nah mine do the job!
Tbh, I find that I will use my crimp tool for a week and then not use it for months.
If I was using it all the time I would build the cost of some snazzy ones into the job but yeah my old ones will be fine for many years...
