I have had many ideas on this subject, could someone please tell me the correct way.
I am running about a metre of 3 core 2.5mm cable between a CU and an Isolator. Both boxes are metal.
One of the cores will be used as the Earth.
Do I need to run a seperate cpc,if so how do I connect it and...
At College, haven't covered much yet about dual RCD's
What is the advantage of using two Rcd's over one.
What circuits would be on each section of the CU?
Also I have an old re wirable type CU and am thinking of changing it(with more knowledge).
I have a split load board with one Rcd would this...
When wiring surface switch backboxes, what is the correct way to leave the cpc if there is no terminal?
Is it as simple as leaving it in connector block or is there a better way?
Cheers
Hello all,
New to testing so be gentle please.
I understand the basics of continuity and ins resistance tests on rings and radials.
What I am not sure about is polarity.
At what point am I testing for polarity, what does it prove and how do I do it?
SIMPLE answers would be much appreciated...
Good luck to you mate,Can't give you any advice because I'm at College myself(and I'm 43)
With your CV and balls you should be retired by the time you reach my age.
Don't let the "Old Lags" drag you down.
All the best
I will shortly have to purchase a range of power tools(drills, drivers, chaser etc)
I really like the look of the Bosch pro (blue) range, are they good, any comments?
I know I should research these individually but thought I might get a deal if bought as a job lot.
If Bosch are not up to standard...
Thanks to all of you,
I'm getting this story second hand so bare with me.
The supplier's installer put in a new meter some months ago,all was ok then last week all the power went down. The owner called the supplier who sent someone round. He informed them that it was not their problem and...
Thanks so would I be right in assuming that if there is no power to the meter that this is definately the concern of the supplier and NOT the owner!
Cheers
An easy one for you chaps!
At what point in your house does the system become your responsibility and not the providers?
I wont bore you with the details but just had a phone call saying all electricity is off.
They have had a problem with the main fuse but the provider now seems To be washing...
Thanks Monty, could you or any other members tell me,when I pass 2330,2381 and hopefully get accepted in NICEIC can I take on all domestic installations including testing, inspection and signing off my own work?
Obviously I will need the required experience before attempting setting up on my own...
Firstly I must apologise if I am repeating myself, but I seem to be going round in circles!
I am in my forties, employed full time and in the second year of 2330.
I have experience of electrical labouring but am not "practising" at the moment.
I would like to gain enough qualifications to set up...
Please help!
I am in my early 40s and employed full time not in the electrical industry.
I have done a number of years part time as an electrical labourer.
I am in the second year of a three year 2330 college course (1 day a week) Unfortunately I have many questions on what happens when I finish...
