Do you do jobs for cash, and then not declare it with the taxman? (voters in the poll are private!!!)

IMO anyone who thinks cash is king nowadays is mental. If you’re trying to build a business and get mortgages etc then it’s a pita. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to have a bit on the hip. I know someone who tried paying for a holiday in the travel agents with 3k cash and they wouldn’t take it...

TV wiring for 9x new build flats

Take a twin sat from communal area to main tv position then take a single from main tv position to flats utility cupboard and run a single out to each extra position within flat. Do the same for each flat and run 5 singles from communal area to dish/aerial position. At the main tv point in...

    Time delayed RCD

Try it on the circuit not at the terminals. I can’t remember but there was one or two brands that don’t like being tested at the terminals...I don’t know the reasoning behind it, but worth a try.

    Any DIY joiners on here?

Unless you take skirtings off then the only way is to use scotia bead really. If you have any stop ends where it meets a door for example then cut the end at 45 degree and cut another bit to fit the angle. I would brad nail the scotia on to the skirting and fill and paint it along with the...

    Any DIY joiners on here?

    Supply to apartments

Doesn’t sound any good to me. 6 flats running from a small board with 6 breakers. For one the board is probably going to be 100A and 2 how would you achieve selectivity and 3 how would you incorporate the meter tails to each flat from this board?

    Supply to apartments

Why would you install 2? I think you would be best engaging the services of an electrician.

    Supply to apartments

For flats and metering you have to follow your DNO’s guidance as building network operator. This normally means a single point of isolation, a Ryefield board or similar, then the meters, from meter to a switch fuse and a SWA run to each flat.

    UK Brexit and your business

I’ve been doing a site over the last 2 years....They have planning for 500 light commercial/industrial units. We’ve done roughly 200 so far in blocks of roughly 50 and I’m just finishing a phase of 50 which should be completed in about a week. Normally they would already be cracking on with the...
