    FUSE REPLACEMENT

It is either a control thermostat or an overheat thermostat. There probably won't be any markings indicating its operating temperature to obtain a replacement, which probably isn't available to buy anyway. Buy a new heater.

Poor fault finding- Faulty lighting circuit- Pay or not?

Perhaps I'm being negative, but if he couldn't correct the new problems he caused while he was there it is unlikely he will be able to fix them at all.

I've got loads of cast iron switchgear here I've 'saved' from various jobs. It's so much nicer than the rubbish plastic tat we fit today.

UK 3 Phase Smart Meter EDMI ES -30 B Install

Surely the only difference is in the programming of the offpeak times and nothing else?! Suppliers are working hard to move everyone off of E10 and on to E7.

Strange box attached to 3 phase meter

If you look closely the wire appears to go into the terminal of fuse1. The neutral coming from the meters neutral terminal, looping into the meters aux switch then down to the box. Perhaps the switch was to disable the contactor in the box during the summer? I assume there should be cables...

That's almost new for a standard meter! Don't forget new smart meters have a very short working life for some reason and need replacing every 10 years.

    Retractive press switch 2 way

You can buy 'switch dim' dimmer units with an input for retractive switches, press on/off hold to dim. This would replace the impulse relay. Some dimmers such as some Danlers models allow connection to retractive switches to allow dimming from all 2/3 etc. way positions that would allow...

    Storage Heater Issue

The PCB certainly appears to be the same. Those 4 tabs are used to connect to a remote terminal block in the Dimplex version, rather than the small block soldered onto the PCB in the Creda version. The top 3 tabs are Neutral 24hour, Neutral OP, Live 24hour and the one below the grey capacitor is...

    Picture Light replacement

If the light fitting is wide enough you could replace the old holder with a new 221mm complete fitting. https://tdspares.co.uk/product/strip-light-fitting-bulb-holder-30w-60w-221mm-double-ended-tubular-strip-light-and-fire-glow Ive not seen the bare holders in years, which is good as they often...

    Storage Heater Issue

The Dimplex version can be wired for 'single supply' which involves moving a brown live and a blue neutral jumper wire onto different spade tabs, that then provides power to the off peak terminals when there is only a 24 hour supply. The charging times are then programmed in the settings to...

I remember the time we replaced all the sockets above the kitchen worktops with IP rated ones as the cats kept peeing on them which tripped the RCD.

    Old switches different wiring

I assume this is some extra low voltage system, as the common for the 3 switches appears to be connected to a rivet on the metal plate? Or does it just go into the side of the first switch?
