When I do this I wire such lights in FP200 white cable.
I usually buy 3 core and earth 1.5 FP 200 for lights as this lets me add photocells / sensors anywhere along the route and add in extra sensors at any point.
Make sure you buy decent sensors like Sentinel. I prefer to keep the lights and...
It's only the electric meter that has the commication hub, the gas meter will go in to dumb mode if the electric one is taken away.
Some suppliers also allow a property owner to buy a standard meter that meets UK / EU standards and they will fit it and seal them
I have had conversations with smart meter installers and MEM RCD's have came up
It is a known issue.
If you call the supplier you can ask them to poll the meter while on the call and see if it trips
They could also send a signal to the meter to put it in to dumb mode (no communications)...
I have and use Hikvision as it is decent
I also have a Darkfighter IP camera and it is good
Hikvision also do a hybrid NVR that takes BNC cameras as well as IP cameras, that way you can move from exisiting wired BNC to a IP system
The software is free IVMS4200 and it also works on mobile...
Look up their company info and see what they do, also check John Lewis and Waitrose sites
Drop nuggets you have gleaned from their site in the interview and have a couple of questions to ask- this shows an interest in the firm and their line of work
You could also ask if they do building...
Who specified / supplied the lights?
The regs state you have to follow manufacturer instructions- and the light states class II
Kingfisher is part of B&Q / Screwfix - did someone look at Screwfix and think they were a good idea?
I guard my mobile number quite close- my friends, family and very regular customers have it.
Others are given the business number which informs people that calls are recorded etc., these calls are also logged it comes in handy
For example one agent had a tenant trying it on (needed to top up...
I have a Googoe Pixel 6 Pro - my old phone was 6 years old and playing up
However, I have a different operating system - Graphene OS on my new Google phone and it is much better
It loads quicker and does not let Google track and send lots of data (for techies the Google stuff operates in a...
It sucks
We had 3 calls for out of hours emergency stuff on the Christmas holidays
2 were unknown and one was existing client
Each client was sent an quote prior to leaving for site.
The ones we did not know we required payment prior to leaving.
One accepted and one declined- funny that an...
I do like these meters with the integrated isolator built in
I actually suggested (to SELECT) about 16 years ago when they were involved in the consultation for smart meters that these new meters should have a built in isolator
The feedback- it was refused as it would cost an extra £6 per meter.
You need a CT clamp at main tails, it depends on the rules where you are - you used to be allowed wireliss ones (such as MyEnergi Harvi), these should be wired (for reliability)
If the charger is running at 32A and then a shower, cooker and heating is switched on then the current could go above...
Yes, you require a CT (current transformer) at the supply end to prevent the service fuse overloading, other wise you may have to limit the charger to 16A or so.
You may be easier to run a new 16mm / 25mm {depending on cable calcs} to the garage (you could use a EV ultra cable), then you will have a CT line in the CAT5/6 back to the main supply as well as a ethernet one)
You could change the consumer unit in the garage and provide a seperate RCD for the...
