    The cable size is dictated on the installation design drawing. If you are unsure you are encouraged to confirm with the assessor, you won't fail for asking as they would rather you do that than get it wrong.

    A periodic inspection and test would determine if a rewire is needed. It would be best to engage a local electrician to conduct and inspection and test and raise an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to identify any problems you may have.

    I suspect you're trying to test an LED driver, not the easiest thing to learn on as their configuration can give confusing results when testing L&N to earth. Start on something simple like an extension lead, no electronics to give confusing results, but try to use one without a neon light first.

    A single 5 core cable doesn't need a grouping factor as the manufacturer would have taken this into account when designing it. A group of 5 core cables bunched together would need the appropriate grouping factor applied.

    If there are circuits in the summer house then you will need to design them, so yes, you will need to do the calcs. TBH once you get into the flow you'll be surprised how quick you can do them.
