    Have you been to look yourself? Could it just be that your friend has reset the rcd that has a socket and lighting circuit on and thought the rcd is the circuit, as all circuits on that rcd would re-energise??

    Aico are my go to wired product, if using battery only then I go for fire angel which have a long battery life.
