MK Logic Plus vs Hager Sollysta - which one should I choose?

Are you doing a report for 'Which?' ? If that noise isn't deafening, what's the problem with an incisive 'click' for certainty of operation? Wear some oven gloves if you're worried about hand damage.

MK Logic Plus vs Hager Sollysta - which one should I choose?

I used to use a lot of GET/ Schneider Ultimate Screwless. A bit pricey but class stuff.

    Repairing imperial mineral cable

Right or wrong, that is because of the electrical trade in general and it's views regarding other cheaper and inferior methods of wiring being produced and introduced as replacements. For the last 40 years we've been subject to so many alternatives. Ease for labour and pocket, being the main...

    19 Flats fed via Mccb/ryefield.........isolaters??

Not absolutely sure I'm following you. I would have thought the riser Ryefields are still fused panels with isolation at distributed points.

Best 3 phase board and a question

Schneider are best, no doubt...but try pricing (Square D) Loadcentre IKQ, which are now also Schneider. The circuit breakers are exactly the same but have a clip fitted for the Loadcentre board. A few months ago 10k RCBO's were well cheaper than Acti9 Isobar. EXACTLY the same unit with the...

Can someone explain how these storage heaters were wired via the contactor?

Seems they used to be installed by Norweb/Manweb back in the 80's. From what I've read, the best thing to do is replace them. It seems you can retro fit any make of gear, judging from photos.

Can someone explain how these storage heaters were wired via the contactor?

You've googled the brand....was there a brand name on it? It may be bespoke, made up by a contractor, perhaps, with different makes of components. There was quite a bit of it at the time, especially involving off peak systems.

Can someone explain how these storage heaters were wired via the contactor?

MG multi 9 came in mid 70's. Not sure with that Eaton contactor, though. 80's early 90's, I'd guess.

    High Ze reading fails EICR

Just reading #6 ''He conducted R1+R2 tests for all circuits and mentioned that the resistance readings were acceptable. He also tested the RCDs, and all the tests passed, as did the insulation resistance tests''. You, or he, seem to know what's involved regarding the tests. It seems pretty...

Comsumer unit - upstairs/downstairs ring mains

It's scandalous.... but such standards seem to be the norm these days. It's also scandalous a house owner be fobbed off, by the contractor, as a trouble maker for reporting such an important matter. Report to main contractors and make it public. EIC for a new installation, for what it's worth.

    Industrial EICR Pricing

Everything straightforward yes, but It's all about opinion....and that's yours. Jobs can be massively different and we all have our own methods.

    Industrial EICR Pricing

It really is pathetic......and disgusting for the trade. For a proper report it would cost that for the paperwork alone, from scratch, with circuits listed. 28 boards involved, you're talking about 70 odd pages, at least....and that's without defect lists. OK, it seems you've got DB schedules...
