    I don't think that most that are gonna cut corners are gonna be too worried about using Brown & Blue rather than making the effort to try and source Red & Black. Whats most likely to see is the using up of old stock from back at the time the colours changed, the same with old Green earth...

    In fairness I thought that ice was what was left of the gel😂😂😂 It looks like a Wiska Box rather than a Wago Box though, and I've never seen water in (or ice) in one of those before, but never seen one done quite like that either.

    Depends on the property, the spec of what you want, your location, whether it's occupied or not. I'd get another quote though rather than rely solely on the electrician(s) that have said your wiring is illegal.

    In fairness the consumer unit main switch/rcd's/mcb's all look fine also...it looks like the supply cable is the issue, not sure why it's not just a set of metre tails or quite what's got wrong there
