    T&E cables and expanding foams.

I doubt it will make any difference in this situation as it is over such a short length of the cable

    E-stops for Car Workshop Ramps

I agree with James here. In theory it is very simple to implement the emergency stop but it leaves you open to an absolute can of worms should something go wrong. These machines are complicated and are worked on by dedicated companies for a reason (it’s probably all they do). Steer clear and...

UK Meter Tails : Do i have a potential issue?

100A isolator or cutout doesn’t mean anything except it is rated at 100A maximum. Fuse could be 60a or 80a. If so, tails are fine.

    Improver in a pickle

Your hand tools will do the vast majority of your work and you can pick up decent power tools cheap second hand. As for the experience and knowledge, no one knows everything. It’s a job where you’re always meeting new issues and it’s more about having a methodical way of working through it and...

What would you do in an instance like this?

I would agree with the others on invoicing for what has been done, getting paid and leaving it at that. Their demands are entirely unreasonable and would be difficult for them to enforce without a written contract. As for being green, there are many difficult people in life and it will not be...

Installing RCBO-Surge Protector inside Meter Cupboard

The tape on the swa on the right where the insulation has likely been stripped back is alarming

Installing RCBO-Surge Protector inside Meter Cupboard

This would be in an enclosure I presume? If so then I would be fine fitting it there. If you intend on mounting it directly on din rail and leaving the terminals exposed, I’d say that’s a no no.

Multiple Domestic Distribution Units - RCD Topology

On the bright side you could probably suffer multiple rcd failures before your house has no rcd protection

question for the experienced or recently qualified sparky

They will go over this. You’ll find in your first year you’ll go over a lot of things that seem irrelevant, some will be useful to you and some you’ll never use again. Stuck with it, the practical side is only part of the job, understanding the theory is key also.

Multiple Domestic Distribution Units - RCD Topology

What is this absolute mayhem? God knows what rcd will trip on a fault it’s like a lottery. God helps whoever buys this house after you and decides to do some electrical work

can this produce useful electric energy?

Sounds like the replies are being ignored again. Probably been bought out by Bp at this stage and living on the Cayman Islands

    Question regarding my AM2

It doesn’t need a neutral. 4th core will be earth. Make sure to use correct sy glands that they provide you with

So, What can I actually do now?

You can realistically do whatever you want and start work whenever you want, but if it came to a court case and you have to prove competency your minor works will ONLY cover you for an alteration to an existing circuit, such as adding a socket to an existing circuit. You’ll need to complete your...

    Do I need to rewire?

Yeah I would think so. Could be wrong but seems too good to be true in my experience. They look extremely rough and potentially have the cpc cut off. Definitely need a proper eicr done, wouldn’t rule out rewiring or not at this stage.

    Do I need to rewire?

    Yes indeed I do

    Do I need to rewire?

IR testing is highly likely to have been carried out correctly if at all as all results would not be expected to be that high if the cabling isn’t new or nearly new so it would be wise for I have a proper EICR carried out before proceeding.

Mini one 2001 losing power since got my radiator fixed

Very good. Do you often post random statements that come into your head?

    Initial verification and testing

It only covers existing circuits. Any new circuits must have an installation certificate and and alterations to circuits require a minor works certificate

    Bathroom tiles plasterboard or ply

New build, I’d presume plasterboard. Preferably cement board or ply in bathroom but being a new build I doubt it
