I carry out some maintenance in a local cinema which is now 100 years old and every time I go into the projection room I look at this old decommissioned rectifier and realise how easy things are for use nowadays with all our tools and modern electronics.
I'm guessing this rectifier was built to...
Secondary hot water pump is usually installed in larger systems so that the the customer doesn't have to wait ages for the hot water.
Personally I would put this pump on another timclock then set it up to run when the customer is most likely going to be using the bathrooms.
The HW and Towel rail...
44 metres is a large run, as mentioned above you will need to break it down into smaller section, as mentioned above, even If you had a large driver the voltdrop through the circuit board in the strip would cause the LED to dull.
Outside I would recommend a 24v IP68 strip, if your using RGB or...
As long as you your pt1&2 I can't see their being an issue. On the JIB website it used to also state that if you completed the 2360 before 1998 then a NVQ3 wasn't required, I think this is still in force but its not documented anymore.
I did my NVQ 3 around 2000 the technical part of the...
Hi all, I have my first EV charge point to install next week (not under OZEV grant), I was hoping to use a Zappi but looks like there is at least a 12week lead time so that's out of the question.
The charge point is fitted on the garage wall with class 1 light fittings so I'm looking for a...
I've used nitro pdf to do this, it's a PDF editor. Along with converting pdf files to word docs you can upload a signature file then stamp it over the pdf.
It's paid software but I believe you can grab a 15 day trial for free
I know if you want to use a 4 pole RCCBs without a neutral you would insert a resister (correct valve for rcd) between an outgoing phase and neutral terminal. (See Schneider link)
I assume your correct the test button must be linked through an output, sounds to me like a manufacturers fault.
I think it's just the control gear side. Lewden are still manufacturing and have released a miniature SN RCBO recently.
Might be worth emailing Lewden and asking for a declaration letter to say that they are happy installing CG and Lewden branding devices in the same enclosure.
Neat!! I like Fusebox but 1.2Nm on the terminals just doesn't seem tight enough IMO, its alright for 1mm cable but not tight enough for a 10mm shower circuit.
I still haven’t fitted an EV charger, I completed the course last year and probably get 1 enquiry a week. The local firms near me have all stopped installing under the OZEV scheme for exactly the same reasons.
Even spent the £19 to download the IET digital risk assessment PDF
Agree with @pc1966 it's great if you need to alter tube in situ. But its no substitute for threading.
The idea is great but if it doesn't take long to thread a piece of conduit even with cheaper £30 stock and die sets.
Does anyone know if there is any kind of adapter that can be used on a standard 1gang UK square metal Knockout box, to convert it to a EU sized opening.
Ive lost count at the amount of times I've recently had to fit a something for someone which was designed for a EU back box , the screw holes...
Seems very odd. Out of interest where was the extension lead plugged in... was it plugged into a single phase circuit on a 3 phase system?
Did you verify the voltage of the extension lead between all conductors?
Poor neutral connections can present themselves as reverse polarity and cause...
