Securing cables & trunking to prevent premature collapse.

I just use plasterboard fixings ( with the metal worms) to fix into plasterboard. If I'm using plastic trunking with D-line clips that fit inside the trunking, Wall dogs if it's a single cable or a p-clip as you see the worm. Wall dogs are brilliant in block as sparkychick said.

    EV charging question

We are not allowed to quote regulations anymore but 722.411.4.1 Basically says a PME earthing facility shall not be used unless one of the following methods are used...... The third indent (iii) is the one that the Zappi charger and others appear to have complied with which in a nut shell...

    Tripping and car charger

Agree with Pete. Its a bit of a mine field... I believe Tesla's instructions will tell you that their lower rated charging equipment (up to 32amp) needs a A type RCD as a minimum, anything above this needs a B type. It's to do with pulsed /full DC leakage overwhelming the coil in general AC...

    Ireland Customers wanting receipts

If you ring up the wholesalers for a price it will always be excluding VAT. Also your markup is to cover time and costs sourcing and obviously a guarantee if they fail. If I were you i would only communicate with this customer via email from now on. I would mention everything discussed so far...

    No RCD in sub main

Either way Hi-tuff has not got an earthed metallic covering (like SWA) so it will need to be protected at source by an RCD like he has. Just not ideal its attached to the same RCD thats covering some of your house circuit's

Socket showing live on both ring mcb’s ?

This requires further investigation from someone qualified as they will know the correct safe isolation procedures. as mentioned buy others there is a chance that the rings are interconnected somewhere which makes this particularly dangerous when fault finding.

    EICR coding

Maybe its an issue with the software, theres nothing wrong with the old colours, I would only code old colours if green sleeving was used on the CPC.

    Wholesalers....

My local wholesaler (Kew) are pretty good, the guys behind the counter know the difference between a contactor and a relay, and are good for a laugh. Their price is about the same as TLC, some items are slightly cheaper, some are more expensive, but they treat me well, and they do go out of...

    Just finished a rewire...... exhausted!

I know mate ;) just replying to the thread in general. Always makes me smile when you turn up to a rewire and see the old split concentric conduit that the old sparks put in. Wonder how long that used to take ?

    Just finished a rewire...... exhausted!

Each rewire is different, always nice when you get that occasional easy one, that you can make a decent profit on. I recently rewired my sister in laws it was a nightmare, but its one of those jobs you have to do. Solid flooring downstairs, floor to ceiling chases and wall lights too ? Existing...

    Thermal Cameras

I recently brought the flir c3. The resolution on the thermal side isnt great but when blended with a standard image it is easy enough to see whats going on, pretty easy to put reports together using free their software too.
