"Cure" for Spanish 'Flu. ( I'm sure that's what I have)

Tickly throat Monday, full snot fest, bunged solid head Tuesday. I tried Lemsip etc for one day, felt worse Wednesday. Resorted to traditional cures Wednesday evening, felt fantastic today. Irish Whiskey, Demerara sugar, Lemon slice, whole cloves. Large wine glass, half fill with not long...

    MEM RCBO's

May not fit older MEM boards. I tried a couple of months ago to find one, it was going to be materially cheaper to change the whole board.

The RCD wasn't tripping before you got there, indicating ( not proving) a reasonably safe installation. The switch change is temporary. High chance, almost definite, of young'un's health deteriorating, or minimal chance of exposed metalwork becoming live, then being touched etc.

12v on socket ring main after isolation.

That probably isn't very helpful to you! My guess would be induced voltage. I wouldn't have thought there'd be any real energy behind it. Do you understand about induced voltage? Not trying to show you up, but it can seem a bit unbelievable.

    easy jobs being an electrician

Dead hands? Have you checked them on a known source? Seriously though, your hands only ache because they're doing actions that they're not used to. Keep at it, and not only will your wrists stop aching, but your forearms and biceps (mainly, if you're right handed), will strengthen too. Good for...

How to get a weatherproof seal on conduit?

20 mm conduit should fit through a 32mm compression gland, which should come with rubber washers. I've found that smearings of vaseline help. (Those 2 sentences are connected)

    Charity work

I don't do any electrical work for charities, I'm not reliably around during the working week, usually working away. When I am at home and at weekends, I'm on the boat crew for the local RNLI station. The hardest part of which is being dry for 1 week in 3 when I'm on call!
