    Little Giant steps

I got a set of Little Giant Dark Horse steps about a month ago and thought I'd recommend them. Not light and not cheap(very not cheap!), but very adaptable, and shorter than standard steps, so fit in the back of the truck. If you find yourself needing adaptable fibreglass steps, these are the...

    Centurion concept linesman for me.

    Supply to summer house.

Just out of interest, what type of earthing system is it, what's the Zs at the point you're taking off, what size of breaker is supplying it?

    MK consumer unit

I spoke to MK technical about swapping L and N inputs less than 2 years ago. They said it wasn't a problem, it was purely a double pole simultaeneous (?) switch. Labelled L and N to match the standard layout of their Sentry boards. To swap, simply stick "L" and "N" stickers on your desired...

    Business bank account

Lloyds for me, though i'd recommend setting it up, signing stuff, in person with one of their commercial staff rather than doing it on line. In person everything was ready to start banking pretty much the same day. After a period of company dormancy, I opened up a new account online, and it took...

    Kewtech KT63

I was issued with KT64 at my last job. More often than not had erroneous results when testing on auto. Sent back a whole batch of ABB RCDs once as tripping on 1/2.Led me to not be able to trust the MFT. Passed calibration very time though.

    Glasses/goggles

To stop a diving mask fogging up, wiping the inside of the lens with spit works. For dusty work I use a full face mask and exhale through my mouth so the exhaust is more forced through the valve.

    Work trousers.

Engelbert Strauss for me. Massive choice, very comfortable, more gloves than you can shake a stithy stick at! I'd unhesitatingly recommend them.

New Gadgets or tried and trusted methods

I find that a wago box with a SL/N to each fitting works well. This means investing in some wago boxes and connectors, but the amount of time and effort saved more than makes up for it. I've learned that there's some things that I just don't "get"; buying the cheapest, rather than the best that...

Best place for tools on the internet.

I bought a Bosch 36V SDS last week from Toucan Tools in Leyton. Very well priced and Tony was very helpful, which as I wanted a slightly different spec from usually supplied, was better than other suppliers who didn't seem to have any hands on experience with the tools they were selling. A bit...

    Charging batteries in van

A simple inverter should be adequate; Maplins, among others, sell them.

Blue spanner for me as well, prob due to blue background, too lazy to think of a different colour.

    Exporting PME

There's something in the back of my mind, ( could be a fly!), about DNO preferring a seperate bonding conductor when extending the EZ. I could have made that up though.

using voltage drop too your advantage

I apologise for my first reply; it was less than helpful. I believe that if the machine was built in Europe for the European market, then it should work fine with as little voltage drop as possible. UK source voltage can vary by +-10% P/E. Again, apologies for my first response.

    How to bond gas!

What I find really disturbing , is the state of the state of the outer sheath! It looks like it's been chewed by a blind beaver!
