    Wet Pants why oh why....

With twin brown you don't which is which. The best method, as used in some countries, is an identifiable switch wire colour, orange or violet.

    Where to put sockets?

Indeed but there is no requirement for either, especially FCUs as the appliance plugs will have fuses.

    catenary wire heights on bungalows

GFI would obviously make them safer, but sockets in bathrooms are frowned upon here. Women have to use their hairdryers in the bedroom.

    catenary wire heights on bungalows

Don't followthat. Surely a filed down polarised plug is the same as a non polarised plug, and there are still plenty of those about, iphone chargers come to mind. Are you saying tamper proof receptacles would not accept them?

    Where to put sockets?

My name is not Winston. Isolators are not the norm except for cookers and hobs. A grid panel is certainly not the norm. What happens in foreign countries is of course irreverent, but must be a pain with isolators for every TV, table lamp etc if what you say is true.

    Where to put sockets?

So that's what it's about. What does part M say exactly that requires grid switches?

    Where to put sockets?

It is but why do you want that? Will you have another grid panel in the lounge for the TV, set top box, table lamp etc?

    How to wire motor plug

It looks like a US dual phase lead, (what they call 3 wire) though the yellow wire should be white and should not be connected anyway.

    Where to put sockets?

Completely unnecessary. Just a modern fad. If all these are connected to the ring at the same point could cause overloading in one leg.

    catenary wire heights on bungalows

I am also interested to in other countries methods. I have a book on French wiring (in English for expats). I like their idea of switch wires being identified by being orange or violet, both being used on two way switching circuits for the strappers. Of course this can only really be done using...

    How to wire motor plug

Wrong voltage, no plug, reject it. Simples.

Gas & Electric Meter - Same Cupboard?

I hope the plug top is firmly fixed to the plug bottom. They are often behind furniture and can be no more easilly pulled out than behind a washing machine. So again: Would you apply the same logic to every other electrical appliance, TV, set top box, table lamps etc? If not why not?

    catenary wire heights on bungalows

That has no relevance in the UK.

    Where to put sockets?

What on earth for? If you can get at the plug as you want that is the best isolation possible.

    Where to put sockets?

And is stupid as well. Two fuses in series!!

Gas & Electric Meter - Same Cupboard?

To be honest when buying a house there are more important things to worry about than a few recent ideas about meters. For many years they have been in the same cupboard with no problems. How about, does the roof leak, are the window frames sound, is the pointing OK, does the other half like the...

    OK. Thanks for the clarification.

Are oven manufacturers lying to us?

You don't even need 6mm cable. On a 32amp breaker 4mm is sufficient. Think 4mm radials on 32a breakers.

Mounting Socket upside down - is it OK?

Surge protected extensions are a cause of RCD trips and don't protect against big surges (lightning). We don't get small surges in the UK generally.
