How do I charge AGM batteries?

Not really a flash, it took 10 days, yes if for example lights left on then jump start leads for around a minute may work, but when down to zero volts, looking at days not minutes.

How do I charge AGM batteries?

I use another battery in parallel and a smart charger, the smart charger I use is a Lidi 3.8 amp, and under 7.3 volt it assumes battery is 6 volt, and will not charge at all if under 3.8 volt, however it is the upper limit which also causes a problem, over 15 volt it assumes battery disconnected...

Help! Am2 coming up and need help with the s plan

Don't worry, first time I came across a Y Plan I was struggling, it was my daughters house, and I had a new grand daughter and no heat, talk about pressure, no exam can beat that. It turned out to be one failed micro switch, however on a Sunday to get a V2 micro switch is not easy, so whole...

Help! Am2 coming up and need help with the s plan

You are correct it would not work, there is no supply to 15 on wiring centre or 2 on the programmer, neither is there any tank thermostat, as shown you would rely on the solar for domestic hot water.

Help! Am2 coming up and need help with the s plan

John Ward (Flameport) has a U-tube and website full of useful stuff, still do not know which diagram you were referring to, the S plan has moved on with the use of modulating boilers, using thermostats like the EPH it can control the motorised valve with one output and the boiler with the...

    Not a car ? but a Boat ?

@mydigitalhome is correct there are many different qualities and type of LED lamps. I have found nothing to with price, my wife bought lamps from internet very cheap and one failed, out of interest I dismantled it, and actually found the fault, a simple dry joint, so reassembled and put back in...

    Not a car ? but a Boat ?

I agree with what you have said, so an LED designed for 12 volt so 3 LED's and a resistor, if supplied with over 12 volt the LED voltage will still be 9 volt approx until it burns out, so instead of 3 volt across the resistor at 12 volt, if the stage charger is charging at 14.8 volt then you...

    Not a car ? but a Boat ?

There are special bulbs for cars and boats with built in pulse width modulated current regulation and they can be supplied 10 - 30 volt and output stays the same this firm Bedazzled Protected LED Lights 10-30v ideal for 12V 24v environments - https://bedazzledledlighting.co.uk/ seem to...

How do I fit a digital thermostat?

OK digital is old method i.e. on/off, analogue new method turns boiler output up down, the modern boiler can adjust output up/down and two main methods, one connects to boiler ebus, the other controls return water temperature. The latter method has a problem, unless pump and boiler is running...

10A MCB protecting a Radial in a Garage.

My son was wiring up some houses back in early 90's and it had 2.5 mm inside the house and 4 mm SWA to garage, and today we would not dream of wiring like that, but in the 90's that was the plan he was given to follow. Back then no one considered electric car charging or patio heaters, or hot...

Battery charging, not a problem, but trying to understand what is happening.

Needed charger for other cars so removed, then used it to go to doctors, sure left hand inertia light was not on when I drove down, but while waiting for wife noticed it was on, so put back on charge just to see if this time it does not cycle, but some 5 hours and exactly the same patten as last...

Battery charging, not a problem, but trying to understand what is happening.

I am monitoring, OK input to chargers not output, opened back door and slammed closed again just in case, and it seems it may have been some boot light on.

Battery charging, not a problem, but trying to understand what is happening.

I have put two chargers on the same battery so charge rate now 0.2 amp, and still not holding, and it jumps to 0.9 amp 4 times an hour. What I am trying to work out is the battery reaching end of life, or has it got some sulphation and just needs a little longer.

Battery charging, not a problem, but trying to understand what is happening.

Nearly 2 weeks on charge now, I have 12 Ah, 40 Ah, 75 Ah and two 85 Ah batteries both on and off cars, and with the same charger they go through the four charge rates and end up with a 0.1 amp charge rate over 12.8 volt between 13.2 and 13.8 within a few days, as did the 95 Ah on the Kia last...

    EICR report on split property

The IET seem to include the supply gear in the inspection there is a section to report it in the IET forms, however the IET forms do not include items fixed to building where the government papers do, so there is no clear information as what should and should not be included in the report. My...

    Taking alternators

Rotor easy to check, power up and see if rotor is magnetised, never really had a problem, if winding not down to earth and showing continuity then OK, stator much harder to check, and also most likely to be damaged by faulty bearing, as to wiring, originally delta, however Bosch found if wired...

Battery charging, not a problem, but trying to understand what is happening.

I use smart chargers, and the basic design is each time it hits a set voltage the charge rate drops, so starts at 3.8 amp, then 3 amp, then 0.8 amp and finally 0.1 amp, however if the voltage drops below 12.8 volt on the 0.1 amp charge rate it will return to 0.8 amp charge rate, some times it...

    BS7671 524.1, C2 or C3

As said your looking for degrading and danger, not compliance with any edition of BS 7671, in most cases it is the same, but to say anything passes or fails just because it complies or does not comply with BS 7671 is not enough. The problem as I see it is other regulations and laws, BS 7671 is...

    BS7671 524.1, C2 or C3

So every BS 7671 edition I have is only valid for designs after a set date, so you will need the installation certificate to get the design date and a van full of reference books to select the correct year. As when each current edition was current it refers you back to older editions when not a...
